PRI hosts Study
Abroad programs for students. Programs must include a research
experience and cultural interaction.
Foreign university students with an interest in mathematics, science,
and technology.
Science is interpreted broadly to include fields like engineering,
architecture, medicine, and social science.
Yes. Part of the PRI Mission is reaching out to non-scientists to
encourage mutual understanding and
collaboration. Foreign university students with an interest in the
following areas are eligible:
- business, law, and journalism
- humanities and creative/performing arts
Proposals with a component reaching out to science will be viewed
favorably.
Each Study Abroad program must be led by a faculty member who will be
responsible for submitting and implementing the planned educational
activity at PRI. Proposals must
have the following components:
- proposed start and end dates (maximum of four weeks)
- number of students (maximum of 15)
- summary of goals
- outline of educational activity (must have research
component)
- cultural interaction (e.g., volunteering in local
community;
visiting national preservations - Mayan temples, rain forest, cayes,
wildlife, etc.)
PRI requires that all educational activities at the institute be
comparable to those at the best universities in the world.
