PRI is an institute charged with hosting world-class interdisciplinary research activity in the theory, application, and pedagogy of mathematics, science, and technology.

Science is to be interpreted broadly and incorporates fields such as architecture, engineering, medicine, and social science.

PRI also welcomes exploratory activities by humanities scholars, writers, creative and performing artists, lawyers, journalists, and other professionals.

PRI research is conducted with a vested interest in the welfare and development of Belize.
