An objective of PRI is to promote a broad understanding of mathematical and scientific modes of research inquiry, and show how their methodologies can be applied to societal needs. Examples of such applications would include:

• managing and forecasting financial, economic, and public health risks
• designing and servicing technological systems for businesses
• developing and maintaining efficient transportation networks
• creating and updating pedagogical tools to strengthen mathematics and science education

PRI fosters these activities through public lectures and seminars, along with enhanced educational and research training opportunities for students and faculty at primary, secondary, and tertiary academic institutions.
